Flashermac
Video of a food seller's stall being raided by authorities has sparked outrage in Indonesia. Saeni is seen begging officials in Serang, west of Jakarta, not to confiscate her food as punishment for being open during the day in the fasting month of Ramadan. She told local media she was deeply in debt, but now money and support are pouring in for her. http://www.bbc.com/n...d-asia-36537364
YimSiam
Indo's such a strange and dangerous mix... diversity and chaos and creativity, then Islam slapped over it like a heavy wet blanket... Glad there's sources of support for her - hope some of it comes from inside Indonesia...
Flashermac
10% of the Indonesians are Christian, while another 2% are Hindu. Apparently, the police decided they must observe Ramadan too, whether they like it or not.

Flashermac
Thai religious holidays are only dry for one or two days, not an entire month. There would be rioting in the streets, if they tried that!
