GatLoS
I read in Popular Mechanics that there is now a Mod chip for the XBox that allows you to play copied games. Does anyone know if it's available in Thailand yet? and if so where and about how much. I'll be going to Pattaya in mid-August and if it's availabe, plan to take a machine to get modded. Guest
The x box modchip is a 29 wire chip. You will need a good soldering iron and magnifing glass. I don't no the price in Thailand But in Australia here I install them for AUD $200 chok dee
BaronTT
As the previous post mentioned, it's a 29-wire mod. Don't even consider doing the work yourself. The soldering points are very small and more likely than not you'd mess it up. Leave it to the pros. I do a fair amount of soldering on electronic components but I messed up a PS2 mod, which only had about 5 soldering points. Toasted the PS2's motherboard and cost me $200 to replace. The PS2 repair places I talked to said that it was very very common for people to ruin their PS2 motherboards when trying to mod it. In my case, I only messed up one of the soldering points, and you wouldn't even know it was messed up by looking at it. But it ruined the entire motherboard nevertheless.
