In 2 minds about this. One the hand I really do not want to see you go and I fully agree that a lot of Bangkok Missy's posts are inane bullshit. On the other hand, she (?) is not insulting anyone and staying (mostly) within the topics that are the focus on this board.

    Bangkokmissy,

Why don't you tone things down a bit. There really is no need to comment on every single post, and even less for cutting and pasting near random information about stuff you have no clue about.

If this becomes a choice between keeping pretendingtobemale on this board or you, well, I don't think you'd want to find out who I'd choose. So, do yourself and us a favor and tone things down.

    Sanuk!

    Fair enough!

  2. In March of last year in his weekly column, Stickman announced he was leaving Thailand in a year. With the date approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to start a thread about it on this board, as he was by far most active on this board from its Delphi beginnings due to the Bangkok expat clique.

I remember first meeting him around 1998 when he was teaching English and started a Geocities nightlife information site as well as meeting WhosYourDaddy. I subsequently saw him at a few Nana Plaza Friday night board meetings at the Woodstock Bar in Nana Plaza.

His website first started out as an encyclopedia of Thai nightlife information breaking it down to cities like Bangkok and Pattaya and bar areas like Nana Plaza. It was a plethora of info that convinced many people to take the plunge and go to Thailand.

Around 2001, he made a genius move starting a weekly column that enabled him to get more hits and attract more advertisers giving him more of an income stream to supplement his English teacher salary as well as other ancillary income from his bargirl investigation service. Over time he dismantled the nightlife sections, and his website evolved into other sections like book reviews, photography, etc.

He has stated some of his reasons for leaving are wanting to live a more active lifestyle and wanting to have animals. I also suspect that another reason is Thailand has changed and not for he better with changing attitudes, declining Thai nightlife web traffic, and an ever changing tourist mix among other things. He also said that he may not go back to his home country, New Zealand. It wouldn't surprise me to see him settle in Australia, where many Kiwis have relocated.

Stickman first arrived in Thailand to settle around 1998, and it's now 2015. He is now in his 40s, and I'm sure his experiences would make for an interesting book, although he has said he has no plans of writing a book. From his beginnings of being a participant in the nightlife and venturing to the dark side for a time to getting married to a Thai national and his subsequent divorce to embracing health and fitness, he has evolved like many expats do.

His departure from Thailand is the end of an era, a big part of Thailand nightlife history becoming the Internet's version of Bernard Trink. I know I will be reading his final column with great interest.

    Just ask him.

  3. Nelson Mandela: Terrorist, racist, communist, IRA supporter and failed politician!

news132.jpgThe moment has arrived all free-thinking patriots dreaded: Nelson Mandela has passed away, aged 95.

As expected, the media has gone into overdrive with endless eulogies and hero-worship for this, admittedly, remarkable man.

We are not here to sing his praises, but to give you the other side of the long and turbulent story of Nelson Mandela.

We will do so in bite size format, to avoid a long, nauseating focus on this man.

    mandela3.jpg

The Church Street Bombings, Nelson Mandela’s MK handiwork!

Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison because he was found guilty of 196 acts of terrorism.

Nelson Mandela was a communist, who was happy and open about his communist leanings.

Nelson Mandela actually founded the terrorist wing of the ANC/South African Communist Party, the MK.

The MK killed women and children, and committed numerous terrorist atrocities, including, Church Street West, Pretoria, on the 20 May 1983, Amanzimtoti Shopping complex KZN, 23 December 1985, Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court, 17 March 1988, Durban Pick ‘n Pay shopping complex, 1 September 1986, Pretoria Sterland movie complex 16 April 1988, Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, 20 May 1987 and Roodepoort Standard Bank 3 June, 1988.

Nelson Mandela was happy to hobnob with many of the world’s leaders, dictators and tyrants, including Colonel Gaddafi, Fidel Castro, Robert Mugabe and the leaders of IRA/Sinn Fein.

President Botha told Mandela way back in 1985 that he could be released from prison as long as he renounced violence: he refused!

Mandela was no friend of white people, no matter how the media tries to spin it.

    mandela2.jpg

Nelson Mandela with his communist chums.

Only several years ago, Mandela was filmed singing a song about killing white people with fellow black racists, again using the black power/communist salute he is famed for (at end of article below).

Although Mandela personally did not kill anybody, and never set off any bombs, or even shoot a gun in anger, he certainly had the intention to do so and the organisation which he founded – the ANC’s terrorist wing – most certainly did kill people.

We can admire Mandela’s loyalty and dedication to his own people, but we must abhor his apparent racism, terrorist activities, and his legacy.

Mandela inherited a stable, law-abiding, prosperous, economically impressive, agriculturally self-sufficient, corruption free nation, and turned it into a turbulent, lawless, violent, murder-prone, economically stagnant, corrupt third world mess.

He was a failed politician, despite the insane plaudits of the mass media.

So there you have it, Nelson Mandela: terrorist, racist, communist, IRA supporter and failed politician!

Our thoughts are with the 68,000 white victims of the ANC genocide in South Africa, men women and children.

It is to them that we say, rest in peace.

The Durban ( Montclair ) Pick n Pay blast - I was in that shop at the time. Had no hearing for a few minutes.

  4. Hey guys,

Thai 360 has been around for over a decade.

I have read with great interest the postings and views of many of the posters.

Much of what I have read has assisted in my travels to LOS and the East - and I am most grateful of that.

The one ' matter ' which has interested me most is - from where are you?

Do many of you reside in LOS ?

    Are you long term visitors?

    Where is your home country?

Has there been a pole on this question?

    Just a thought !

    Kiwi.

  5. Virtually in lockstep with the (entirely predictable) fall in the value of our own Pacific Peso - the NZD has gone from strength to strength over the last 6 months or so. Converting to kip, I estimate that coss is now a gazillionaire in his adopted country :D

(3.5 months, cossie, and I'll be spending money in LOS like a drunken sailor - I seem to recall you spent a couple of weeks reacqauinting yourself with a few barstools when you got off the plane ;) )

    Great travels mate.

    You lucky bugga.

    Kiwi.
