llso Posted January 26, 2004 Report Share Posted January 26, 2004 Been a year or more since I've been to Koh Tao bit I can highly recommend it. I personally think it is the most beautiful place in Thailand. I stayed at the the SW end of the Island at Ao Ban Chalok. There is a bungalow type resort percehd on a mountainside. It is quite a hike if you get one of the higher ones. I belkive the name is PS or something like that. It is a very nice place and is not dive oriented like most places on the Island. It was quite reasonable for a nice room at around 400 Bt/night. It is a bit far away from the main part of the Island near the pier. Also if you continue up the trail over a hill there is a little place you can rent a mask and fins and do some snorkeling.
