Guest Posted May 31, 2001 Report Share Posted May 31, 2001 I'm coming up on my 3rd anniversary taking propecia. It worked for me, but with some qualifications. I had some thinning on top and near the vertex and it worked gradually to fill in that area over the course of 1-2 years. I also have a receded hairline and that took much longer to fill-in at all. The literature states that it will help preferentially as I described. The younger you are the more chance you have of a good result. I am 47yo. The combination of minoxidil and propecia is probably your best bet for success. There used to be a forum called alt.baldspot that went into every conceiveable aspect of hair-loss.
