The prime minister remains adamant about holding the election by the end of this year. Despite there having been several suggestions on an election date, December 23 seems to be the date that is most suitable for all parties. â??From the way things are looking right now, the most ideal election date would be Dec 23 as early January would be inconvenient for some voters because of the new year,â? said EC member Prapan Naikowit. Earlier, a Suan Dusit poll revealed that 39.9% of voters wanted the election to be held as soon as possible with 33% saying they donâ??t want the election to be postponed and 29% fearing another coup dâ??etat.
