gobbledonk
If I was a multi-millionaire, I'd simply buy one of those small islands for sale the Bahamas has. Big enough to support life but not too small. My main worry would be hurricanes but I'd build underground bunkers there as well. I'd get away from people. If you get Max Brooks' book (World War Z), he has actually taken rich people AND island dwellers into account. With the exception of one very nasty billionaire who cocoons himself in Antarctica (!), the majority are taken out by their own mistaken belief that they can avoid being overrun by surrounding themselves with 'security'. Island dwellers have a different problem - the dead apparently walk along the ocean floor in their hundreds of thousands and overrun any land mass they encounter. The only way to stop them is sub-freezing temps - once frozen, they can be taken out with a headshot or - more economically - the 'Lobo'. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l32r9dNOS91qzowkao1_500.jpg I still prefer the Cronin novels - the backstory is a lot more potent and you actually care about the protagonists.
