  1. Now don’t be shy, Flash. Do tell us what percentage of the people’s votes the Democrats won...remember, this same mob who are now jumping up and down causing mayhem (with apparent impunity from the "unbiased"..ho ho ho..courts) and saying they represent “the Thai people†and will appoint an unelected “people’s council.â€..and were too gutless to test what the majority of Thai voters thought of them in 2014 because they would lose yet again, so decided to boycott and use armed gangs to disrupt the people’s choice instead. The full not sanitized version is here http://en.wikipedia...._election,_2011 Pheu Thai 48.41% of the popular vote main opposition party Democrats 35.15% ...and after the elections Pheu Thai formed alliances with some of the minor parties because they shared common policies. Now I was never as good as Ben Affleck at counting cards in Vegas, but that's what I call a majority. More real live Thai citizens, who are justifiably pissed off at being continually disenfranchised, and who prefer Pheu Thai to Abhisit, Suthep and his cronies.
  2. "The anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee’s (PDRC) will kick off its "all-out final battle" rally Friday [how many all out final battles is that now?] with the possibility that they might attempt to occupy major government buildings and lay siege to free-to-air TV stations, according to a source in the PDRC." (Bangkok Post) Be quick!... NACC, EC, and the Constitutional Court...there’s your man, Suthep, with warrants already out for his arrest on corruption and murder charges. Add to that...using armed gangs to disrupt national elections, trespass on government property, public affray, demonstrating without a police permit, causing a massive disturbance of the peace and malicious damage to the Thai economy. But don’t hold your breath! I think we may need to call in the Mounties for this one! :-) And you say the courts may be biased and corrupt themselves?...nah..can’t be. I think Suthep is a bit like those elephants in Pattaya that used to hide behind lamp posts when the police came to stop them being used for begging....until one of them got hit and caused multiple deaths and injuries.
  3. You've got to be kidding! isn't it strange how fantasy and myth become reality in people's minds. Tell a big enough lie and you will get away with it. >>"they"? ..the Thai people?...who are "they"...certainly not the majority of Thai people who did anything but vote for Suthep and his cronies in the last election..remember the one that the Democrats were gutless enough to boycott because they knew they wouldn't win. So they took their bat and ball home and said no-one can play now. Oh and lets sack the groundsman and his staff too so that the pitch will go to rack and ruin.
  4. Perhaps the NACC, the Constitutional Court, and the Electoral Commission should form a new party for the next elections..after all they seem to be deciding the composition of the government despite the clear mandate of the majority of Thai voters. Oops sorry..they have already done so..it’s called the PDRC. Quiz question: what does the “R†actually stand for? ..Reline our pockets ..Revert to 2001 status quo ..Reassert our power over the plebs ..Reduce Thailand to negative growth ..Ready for the gravy train, bro's?
  5. ...you mean like this bloke http://en.wikipedia....thep_Thaugsuban "1995 to present corruption scandal As part of the Sor Por Kor 4-01 (สปà¸.4-01) land reform scheme, Suthep gave title deeds to 592 plots of land in Khao Sam Liam, Kamala and Nakkerd hills of Phuket province to 489 farmers. It was later found that members of 11 wealthy families in Phuket were among the recipients. Suthep addressed a huge crowd in his Surat Thani constituency a month before a no-confidence debate and called on his supporters to march on Bangkok in the hundreds of thousands to defend his reputation.[5] The scandal led Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai of the Democrat Party to dissolve the House of Representatives in July 1995 in order to avoid the no-confidence debate Wikileaks diplomatic cables from the US embassy revealed that many members of his own party have long complained of his corrupt and unethical behavior. 2009 disqualification as MP In 2009, Suthep was accused of violating the Constitution of Thailand by holding equity in a media firm that had received concessions from the government. Under the 1997 Constitution of Thailand, which Suthep had supported, Members of Parliament are banned from holding stakes in companies which have received government concessions. In July 2009, the Election Commission announced that it would seek a ruling by the Constitutional Court to disqualify Suthep. Suthep held a press conference a day later, announcing his decision to resign from Parliament. Suthep's resignation as an MP did not affect his status as a Deputy Prime Minister and as a Cabinet member. If his case had been submitted to the Constitution Court, he would have been suspended from duty as Deputy Prime Minister. He insisted his resignation was not a proof that he had done anything wrong but that he was worried about status as Deputy Prime Minister [now where have I heard that recently?] 2013 indictment for murder charge over 2010 strife After several Criminal court ruling that deaths and injuries sustained by red-shirt protesters during the political unrest in April and May 2010 are the direct result of order to soldier given by Suthep Thaugsuban, the director of the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES), the Department of Special Investigation, public prosecutors and police agreed to file murder charges against him.[11][12] Suthep was also found responsible by the Court for the assassination of Italian journalist Fabio Polenghi, who was covering the 2010 protests." ..now that the courts have time on their hands (after sitting on their hands for 5 years or more), perhaps these illustrious guardians of morality and defenders of Thai democracy will pursue a few yellow shirts too. ...but don’t hold your breath! Of course, BOTH sides are corrupt as buggery! But for the first time, after decades/centuries of neglect of the rural poor by the establishment, Taksin was canny enough to see the power of the democratic vote. So he actually did something for the poor, while feathering his own nest at the same time of course, changing the capital gains tax laws the day before he made a $2 billion profit on his telco sale. It’s up to opposition parties to create policies that will appeal to the majority of voters..not just the elite, but a wider population who now feel empowered by democracy. Be smarter than Taksin. The present yellow shirts way of fiddling the system with trumped up charges to grab power by stealth in order to get their hands in the till again will only embitter the 3 times disenfranchised majority and lead to strife and bloodshed. Not my problem really..unless under martial law the bars in Pattaya are closed
  6. Do you have a moment? I'd like to share these thoughts with you....
  7. You can't steal the votes of the majority of the Thai people in 3 elections without consequences. I have a feeling the present turmoil is far from over, and sadly Thailand will be the loser.
  8. >> Why are you defending a dictatorial family? ...I’m not. I’m defending democracy. Allow the majority of Thais to decide what government they want. >>>I guess you love Putin to[sic]? ...err that's a total non sequitur but... I think Putin has a point about ethnic Russian towns in eastern Ukraine close to the Russian border. Offer the people (if they have been there for generations not recent ring-ins) an internationally supervised referendum: a fast-tracked Ukraine membership of a free EU or life in mafia Russia. Up2u.
  9. The naivety of yellow shirts supporters is unbelievable. You think Abhisit and Suthep are doing all of this simply because they love Thailand....get real! Google Suthep and corruption! They and their judicial and establishment cronies are having withdrawal symptoms for not being able to dip their hands in the till having lost every fair and square election since 2001! All those lovely development projects going into someone else's pockets...what's the angle? how can we reverse this?...I know ...let's shut Bangkok down, run the country into the ground, keep chanting the mantra "Reform" (whatever the fuck that means..no-one seems to have defined it yet..but thousands seem to be prepared [or paid] to march and die for it!) ... we may have a few casualties along the way...Buddha forbid it's our own necks...pay the deceased's families a million baht each and pray publicly for them ...all because the PM reassigned a hostile public servant appointed by a previous unelected government. A total bullshit pretext! Would this ever have happened in the west..maybe Obama should have been sacked for dismissing McChrystal. Democracy..the will of the majority of the people... may not be the most efficient form of government, but it's the best we've got. The Thai poli's should work within the democracy they have. If the voters dont like your policies, then change your policies. Use your time in opposition and a free media to expose the government's corruption and to get your own house in order for the next plebiscite. But don't use your mates in high places and constitutional courts to bend the rules to win power. because ultimately it ain't going to work. Majority voters in 3 elections disenfranchised.. I'd be mightily upset, wouldn't you be? 3 men in a Constitutional Court appointed by the unelected previous government cannot cancel the voices of 30 million voters...excuse the poetic licence on the figures but you get the point. You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.... Thanks Abe.
  10. Maybe the courts will have more time on their hands now after they have fast tracked this purely political trial ...err maybe to pursue Abhisit on murder charges, and Suthep on corruption charges and using armed gangs to disrupt national elections. How many years have the arrest warrants been outstanding now? ...but don't hold your breath. I don't think the majority of the Thai electorate will put up with having their votes stolen from them 3 times now. Turbulent times ahead. On the bright side it looks like the bars will be open in July after all! ..and the beer and girls will be cheaper as the Thai baht gets slugged by weak economic growth. Nice one..yellow shirts.
  11. A sad day for Thai democracy. It stinks of judicial coup d’etat. Can you imagine this happening in the USA or UK? The country’s majority democratically elected leader Obama or Cameron being sacked for transferring a hostile public servant appointed by the previous government..and to boot, a previous government that was unelected. Well, the shit may hit the fan now. Some hot headed red shirts protest...and who can blame them..they’ve had their votes stolen from them 3 times now. Protests turn ugly. Army steps in. Military coup. Unelected yellow shirt government appointed again. TIT.
  12. Is it 3 times or more ?? now that the democratically elected Thai government has been usurped by the yellow shirts, who are spitting the dummy because they can no longer get their fingers in the till. You are asking for trouble if you continually disenfranchise the majority of Thai voters. Re. Singha heiress and yellow shirt supporter Chitpas Bhirombhakdi’s remarks about rural voters...how would the electorate of say West Virginia feel if they were told that they were unfit to vote...only New Englanders’ votes count? We are going to replace your democratically elected government with an unelected council ..and you don’t get to pick the council...we do. If a political party can’t win an election with their policies, then change your policies until they appeal to the majority. Get elected, then gradually break your election promises, as poli's do in Australia, USA, and UK...â€Read my lips etcâ€. If you have a free media, the liars will get their comeuppance in the next election when they get booted out. Or establish a “Breath of Fresh Air†alternative party that may hold the balance of power and keep the rest of the bastards honest. But don’t take you bat and ball home, and say if I can’t win, no-one else can play. I’m going to eat sour grapes instead.
  13. In Soi BJ girls asking 1000 baht now plus 300 for room. They don't seem to mind if you don't buy them a LD. If the vibes feel right after a bit of friendly interaction, take her upstairs for some friendly intercourse. Probably is the cheapest standard ST deal around, apart the Coconut Bar.
  14. I think you'll find that many of the above problems were created by the GFC and the recession...and we all know who caused that! You can't wave a magic wand and cure the mother of all economic fuckups instantly. Obama is getting there as the DJI chart below shows I think this chart of the Dow Jones Index speaks volumes. It’s the net worth of the top US companies. It represents a nation’s prosperity, and your life savings in pension funds. On the left is Dubya’s term in office where he recklessly encouraged a market bubble deliberately unregulated by his cowboy financial advisers Greenspan, Rubin and Summers (recommended viewing “The Warning†http://www.pbs.org/w...e/warning/view/) If Mc Cain had won the 2008 election that trough would have continued down because Republican policy was “let the banks and car industries etc go bankrupt†along with your life savings. We would have had a decade long depression. Fortunately Obama won and the market clearly reversed from the moment he took office in 2008 and is still rising today, despite obstructionist Republican politics who put their self interest and hatred of Obama before the welfare of their country. If Americans united on economic recovery, (plus peace in the Middle East..no more futile costly wars!)...we could all have a new golden age of prosperity.
  15. The whole Arab world has agreed to recognise Israel in return basically for a few acres of land swaps equal in area to land occupied by Israel illegally since 1967 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Arab_League_summit and reindorsed in 2007 in Riyadh Israel’s reply is to greedily hold onto stolen land and grab even more. How can peace exist when someone occupies your land? Hamas was not created from a vacuum. I hope Obama can knock a few heads together to create a peace agreement in his second term. Without a just peace , violence will escalate and it might come to the shores of Israel’s chief backer the USA, same as the IRA did with the UK...$300 car bombs that cause $2b worth of damage in every major US city. With spoilt brat friends like Israel, who needs enemies?
  16. Israel has its fair share of Jewish nutters who want to ethnically cleanse Christians and Muslims from a racist Jews only state. JERUSALEM -- A Jerusalem monastery, built on the spot where tradition holds the tree from which Jesus' cross was made, was defaced with graffiti bearing the hallmarks of militant Jewish settlers, police said on Tuesday. "Death to Christians" was daubed in Hebrew on the outer walls of the Monastery of the Cross, an 11th-century fortress-like holy site situated in a valley overlooked by Israel's parliament. Army Radio reported that "Maccabees of Migron" was painted on the monastery, too, The Associated Press reported. Maccabees were ancient Jewish heroes, and Migron is an unauthorized settlement facing a court-ordered evacuation. Such acts originally targeted West Bank mosques but have recently expanded to include a mosque inside Israel, Israeli military bases, and now, a Christian holy site. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the words "Price Tag" were also painted overnight by the vandals, who damaged two cars parked outside the monastery in the attack, according to Reuters. The slogan, used by Jewish settlers in vandalism attacks on mosques and Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, refers to the retribution they say they will exact for any attempt by the Israeli government to curb settlement in the territory. Israeli settlement building up 20 percent, watchdog says http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/02/07/10339856-death-to-christians-suspected-jewish-extremists-deface-monastery?lite
  17. >>Live and let live ...it's a pity the Christian USA and UK didn't display the same attitude in Iran when the CIA and MI6 orchestrated a coup to boot out the democratically elected Prime Minister Mosaddegh to replace him ultimately with the Shah to help fill the coffers of US and European oil companies. Or prop up royal family dictatorships through the Gulf for the same reason. Or Guatemala in 1954 Or Indonesia in 1958 Or Cuba in 1959 Or Congo in the 1960s Or Iraq in the 1960s, 90s and 2003 Or Dominican Republic in 1961 Or Vietnam in 1963 Or Chile 1973 Or Nicaragua 1981 ...and the good ole Christian folks are still at it today, buttering us all up for another war against Iran ..the 3rd war in 10 years fought on Israel’s behalf...but you can bet your bottom $ Israel won’t be sending any troops.... just as they never have in the past. Let the Americans, Brits and any other mugs fight it on their behalf. Suckers!
  18. Here's the UK, Canadian, NZ and Aus Head of State and her 2 successors hiding behind her bullet proof Harry Potter cloak of invisibility...speaks volumes about our comparative lifestyles, eh!
  19. And the uncle was supposed to be one of the good guys! If a professionally trained cop does a dopey thing, what chance have the general public got against nutters who can buy an assault rifle at a gun fair without even a police check. In the UK that tragedy couldn't have happened, since the regular police don't carry guns, and in Aus I'm pretty sure cops have to leave their weapons at the police station which they collect when they arrive for duty. The US mayhem continues... Two US volunteer firefighters have been shot dead and two injured while responding to an emergency call in the town of Webster in New York state. http://www.bbc.co.uk...canada-20838925
  20. What they really need is a gun store in every school so that the infants can protect themselves. The NRA suggested creating a database of the mentally ill ...perhaps they should use their own membership list for starters In the week after the Sandy Hook shootings, more than 500 more Americans have been killed by guns, most of them committing suicide, around 200 murdered and about 20 killed accidentally. What I find so weird is that a country with such similar values and morals to the rest of the civilised world and that produces more Nobel Prize winners than the rest of us put together can be so dumb when it comes to gun control. Americans seem impervious to the facts. Doesn’t the average American notice that the murder rate in the US is four times what it is in the UK? Do they notice that London, one of the world's biggest cities, is about to record fewer than 100 homicides a year for the first time in decades? Do they, blase as they are to news reports of shootings, notice the death of a three-year-old in Oklahoma who shot himself in the head last weekend with a gun he found in his aunt 's house, that belonged to his Highway Patrol uncle? Americans obviously love their guns more than their lives and their children.

  22. Like it It really is quite possible and pleasant too to live in a society where guns are kept well away from the general no-need-to-own population. I apologise to Americans on this forum I previously called weirdos. I was angry at the preventable slaughter of innocent children. Personally, I would like to see zero ownership. But perhaps make a start by banning all weapons that a farmer or a hunter would find unnecessary..such as [semi] automatic rifles and handguns. I have a good Canadian friend who hunts with a crossbow to give the game better odds and himself more skilful sport.
  23. Like they did in Australia. Cash buy back for guns and destroy them. Include amnesty for illegally owned weapons. Just get them out of circulation. Allow 6 months leeway period. Thereafter, massive fines and imprisonment for possessing a gun.
  24. “People kill people, not guns. Knives, cars, baseball bats can kill too†etc ..is all bullshit blah blah blah. Yes, of course nutters all over the world will find ways to kill if they really want to, BUT not with so much ease as they seem to find in the USA. Look at the stats. http://en.wikipedia....ted_death_rate 36 times more deaths related to firearms per 100,000 than in UK 9 times more than in Australia. Don’t you Americans realise that it is actually possible to experience normal peaceful non violent entire lives without having access to firearms? More than half the world’s population does it every single day. Some people live in countries where they never ever even see a gun! You are the weirdo exceptions, shaking you heads in shock and confusion when the simple truth stands out like dogs' balls. You're still clinging mindlessly to some outdated legislation of your founding fathers. Yes, you can always find exceptions...Dunblane, Port Arthur etc but that’s the point..they are exceptions. American once a month copycat massacres now seem to be the norm. Most people in the civilised world want to lead average peace loving lives. WTF you Americans desire to live at the extreme stupid edge of the bell curve beggars belief. Well, it doesn’t really ..it’s just gutless politicians who mouth platitudes and shed tears when these obscenities happen... but go back to the polls in silence when it comes to election time to cover their arses for fear they’ll upset the powerful NRA. 20 innocent 5-6 year old children a few days ago looking forward to their Christmas treats who are now dead is disgusting and was preventable. Just imagine your grief if they were your own children or grand children. You obsessively gun loving Americans are almost as mad as the lunatic who murdered them, for allowing this to happen. Until you get your fucking act together, we’ll read these same headlines again and again. If 99.9% of the population find it incredibly difficult, if not impossible to own a gun, then you won't feel the need to own one either. The only gun control should be zero ownership. If you want to practise marksmanship, join the army!
