The BTS Gold Line, was never part of the Mass Transit Proposals but Siam Piwat set up a company Krungthap Kanakom to take over from the BMA to design build and operate the Gold Line which runs to IconSiam front door.

    But didn't they actually pay THB 2 billion to build the Gold Line - or was that sleight of hand money - give now and get much more later?  {Don't know the real story - but read that they paid which I thought was funny..... }

  2. Almost 10 years since the last post - but here is a duplicate from another section I just posted:-

Will Tahitian Queen (TQ) rise again?

    Let's hope so.

    TL;DR Version

My father, Woody, has been living as an expat in Thailand for over 30 years. He spent most of his time helping children in need using the motorcycle-club turned charity drive, the Jesters’ Care 4 Kids. With his good friend Bob, Woody co-owns a well-known rock & roll bar in Pattaya, and that has been their only source of income for the past several decades. The pandemic has worn down tourism and thus businesses across Thailand, and soon the bar will no longer be able to stay afloat. With another lockdown being imminent, I’m hoping to help the bar limp along until businesses can operate as usual again.

    Hi everyone,

Although the bar has been forced closed due to COVID, it is still paying rent. The Pattaya Mail article made it seem like it is closed permanently, but we still have a chance to save it!

Thank you so much for donating and sharing this campaign. It means a lot to us. My dad already said he is overwhelmed by your kindness! I asked him if he could share a photo of the bar and he gave me one of him in front of the TQ back when Pattaya beach was still barely developed!

If they succeed, the USA will be lost. If they fail, it will take many years to recover from the damage they have done.

So - how many years to recover from the damage he has done already?

  5. I ventured out this afternoon (Saturday) - just walking the streets around Sathorn area / Suan Plu Road (old Immigration office) - and it was business as almost usual.  Not a massive amount of people out, but there were plenty.  Every food stall was selling food - and a few of the non food shops were selling items out of their doors.

Was even able to get a COVID haircut!

  6. I hear Bernie has some upcoming free time.

Let's ask him to "volunteer" to be the COVID-19 Czar in the USA (donate his salary to match Trump).

Then implement his "COVID-19 Medicare for All" social experiment using the "$1,000 per family payout" being discussed.

That should give him about 300 billion dollars to work with - get that to all the government hospitals and government social sectors - money will just re-circulate as much as possible - and the US will have a great opportunity to do something productive.

    Anyone have Bernie's number?

This whole impeachment for the Republicans has basically been. Yes, he's guilty but you can't prove it

I would say that it is more like:-

This whole impeachment for the Republicans has basically been: "Yes, he's (probably) guilty - but we control the Senate and this is not "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors" in their (the Republicans) eyes.  So why are you (the Democrats) even wasting time to do this Impeachment?"

Which is why I respect what the Honorable Ms. Pelosi is doing.

  8. Not very effective - using a partisan conservative, opinionated conspiracy advocate to push your position?

Thomas J. Fitton is the president of Judicial Watch, an American conservative activist group.

Fitton is prominent for criticizing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election; he has claimed that the investigation is a "coup" against U.S. President Donald Trump and called for it to be shut down.[1]

Fitton rejects the scientific consensus on climate change; under his tenure, Judicial Watch has filed lawsuits against climate scientists.[2][3]

Even better is all the FAKE claims from his organization.

    Impeached - or maybe not?

I was being facetious - I guess it didn't come through.

Yes, The President has been Impeached.  Only 3rd time it has happened in 232 years (The Constitution signed in 1787 as the start date).

Speaker Pelosi has pulled an absolute dozy!  I think a three week delay now due to the holidays will provide enough Twitter fodder for this thread to hit 1,500 pages (shows 1,361 on my screen now)!

    Enjoy the holidays!
