Well - this section is a bit quiet. Last post was started in Sep 2016!
I noticed that IHOP finally opened a branch here - but in Siam Paragon?

I guess I'll wait for the follow-up branch I guess.
Cheers!

Probe ordered into ‘relaxed’ police treatment of murder suspects
The Royal Thai Police on Monday ordered an investigation into controversial photos and video clips of Chiang Rai police with suspected female killers who allegedly dismembered the victim’s body in Khon Kaen province and surrendered at the weekend.
Well, that didn't take long - 2 Immigration Police transfered to "inactive" posts already.

Any photos of this girl (either one)?

This story fails the sniff test to me.
Luxury cars - stolen in the UK? This would make the owner a bit angry, or at least sad. Would have an effect on his insurance I'm sure. I don't even buy the explanation - who is going to get a loan for something like this? Would put yourself in a major investigation I would think. If you could afford/get approved for a loan like this - you probably are not going to be part of this type of scheme.
The insurance company would not just pay out a big amount and not have a little bit of wonder how to get the car back, or find out what happened to the car and try to get some compensations - or are the UK owners and insurance companies flush with so much money now?
Now however, trying to import cars to Thailand is a known "mafia" like occupation. Just try to import a used high performance car - try to find a way to import it legally (even if you wanted to). The linkage between buyers, agents and customs officers must be pretty close.

Why Him? {2016} - perfect for the environment of a long haul flight. Had to contain my laughter at times so as not to disturb others.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing. Not about the trial/conviction - but about the length of time.
I would much rather give them a chance to get a reduced sentence in return for telling the story of how they worked the corruption - in detail. Corruption at a much bigger scale continues to happen, and even when in the very few cases the people are caught, tried and convicted - there are limited cases where they tell the story.
Former PM Thaksin was going to get rid of corruption from the government - anyone who got caught with corrupt "receipts" would get the book thrown at them!
Final thought - the two Americans who gave the bribe only got 6 months in prison.

Former Tourism Authority of Thailand governor Juthamas Siriwan was sentenced to 50 years in prison and her daughter to 44 years on Wednesday in the long-running film festival bribery case. The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases also ordered confiscation of the 62 million baht in bribes they received.
The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) indicted Ms Juthamas, 70, and her daughter Jittisopha Siriwan, 43, in the court on Aug 25, 2015.

Juthamas, daughter put behind bars
Former Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor Juthamas Siriwan and her daughter were put behind bars on Wednesday following a delay in the court’s ruling on their bail applications.
The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases on Wednesday sentenced Juthamas to 50 years in prison for demanding and receiving a bribe of more than US$1.8 million (Bt60 million) to enable an American business couple to get the rights to run the Bangkok International Film Festival.
Her daughter Jittisopha was also sentenced to 44 years in jail on the same charge.
The pair sought release on bail, offering a guarantee of Bt1 million each. The primary court, however, passed on the bail request to the Appeal Court. The lower court said it feared the defendants might flee the country due to the tough penalty.
As of 6pm, the Appeal Court had not ruled on the bail pleas hence the ex-TAT head and her daughter were taken to the Central Women’s Correctional Institution.

learn to read and write a bit so that you can text msg in Thai. It really surprises and pleases women to receive texts from a Farang. And also, once you know when Google Translate is translating things more or less correctly (or has totally gone astray with something,) Google Translate (or the Apple equivalent) is a great aide with messaging.
Or use Skype - with simple sentences it does a good job to translate English to Thai / Thai to English.

So - will go to Toy Bar - have a drink outside and talk to Cactus John over the railing!
Wonder if the "partners" are going to be in there day after day to mind the Coyotes.

Completely opposite happening down in Pattaya - I posted this on another board:-
Sorry - not Bangkok - but Pattaya's walking street (Tuesday night) - if it wasn't for all the black dressed hello girls (all outside) and about 30-50% of normal foot traffic on the street - it was basically business as usual. -

Huge zero-dollar tour network grounded, funds frozen

Seems nothing has changed.
At least Section 44 is being applied for something useful!
The # of big tour buses clogging the streets in Pattaya / Bangkok has long been out of control.

water sports
Sexual activity in which urine is involved. The presence of urine is generally considered erotic for those indulging in the urine related activities.
What I wouldn't give for some hot chick to take a piss on me right now. I am a total 'water sports' freak.
In BDSM terminology, refers to sensual or erotic play involving bodily fluids, typically urine, saliva, and less commonly, blood. Considered 'edge-play', because it is obviously somewhat unhygenic.
