  1. Maybe not, but what's a few hundred B. If you come out ahead you'll feel you got a good deal.
  2. 1700-2500 baht Bunch of places in MBK, Panthip, Fortune. I paid 2200 for a complete white to black swap on a 4S about 12 months ago at Zeer Rangsit. Maybe have them fit a new battery whist you're at it.
  3. Did they say "...and don't come back!"
  4. As to if it would "do any good" I couldn't say but an unelected upper house is not unknown in countries often considered democracies.
  5. Chiang Mai might have gone from the list but Kyoto went from 5th to 1st!
  6. So who did win, and when are they coming to Thailand?

    Lard

I need a substitute for lard in a pork free country. My pastry just isn't the same without lard. Surely some of you have an idea on this?
  10. Surely this post is from the wrong poster!
  11. Ours are all in from 8am until 2pm, though no doubt they will spend all night from 7pm-ish until 3am-ish gorging themselves stupid. Seems rather than proper fasting they just shift day to night and eat much more than when they are not fasting.
  12. The couple of books my daughter brings home are Chinese from China, baby school books.
  13. Plenty of Chinese still being spoken. Where my kids are at school it's so prolific they have Chinese on the curriculum now. There are quite a few kids at the school who identify themselves as Thai (with Chinese grandparents), is how they seem to put it. They are bi-lingual as opposed to some older generation, my next door neighbour who passed away a couple of years ago walked from China to Thailand early on in the 20th century and never spoke a word of Thai. We still hear Chinese from the house though all there are now bi-lingual. Friend of my wife is married into a Chinese family, she speaks only Thai but the rest of the family all speak Chinese at home and preferably so.
  14. 12,000 Baht, surely some zeroes missing, MD of a Ltd Co charged with handling thousands of tons of rice. Wouldn't 120,000,000 be a more fitting amount?
  15. We spend the first 9 months of our existence trying to get out and the rest of our lives trying to get back in!
  16. I've had a pair of QC15's for a few months now. Not sized for Scottish wallets no matter the likely discount but very comfortable for long periods of time, they are over the ear types so they don't tend to burn like some after an hour or so and the noise cancelling is second to none. I wouldn't rate them as real high end sound performance wise but for anyone with less than golden ears you will certainly enjoy them. Build quality is very good, nice carrying case and comes with the extras like an i device mic and control and a aircraft ise adapter.
  17. I recall a report, BBC I think, where they visited fishing boats with a Thai navy inspection team. The fishermen were almost exclusively Burmese and spoke no Thai. The boat captains, Thai, spoke both Thai and Burmese. The naval officers spoke no Burmese. They had a Burmese translator but he wasn't brought along on the boat trips. So the Thai navy personnel used the boat captains to translate for them. They reported no problems and all the fishermen were very happy. I recall that the Thai officer in charge thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with this
  18. Restoring happiness to the Thai people in his own unique way Thaksin is now encouraging his team to follow his lead.
  19. Hmm, dunno, but clicking on it goes to the page okay I post with the link button as below: http://anglosingapor...licants-beware/ There's just a bit in the middle missing signified by the ellipsis (...) Maybe the editor truncates the whole address to fit a certain width and so avoid huge great mult-line addresses that can get corrupted.
