  1. Zimmerman invoked the 'stand your ground' policy when he killed Martin.

    .

Martin probably invoked the 'stand your ground' policy when he alleged jumped Zimmerman.

    .

    If Martin had 'won',

    would he be found innocent?

  2. The Zimmerman case should not have come to the forefront of news media

but what changed that perspective was when the Republican talk shows 'grabbed' Zimmerman as their new 'hero'.

Another trial that gained huge media coverage was the Jodi Arias trial.

What fueled that trial was her barage of lies and her desire to 'tell the truth' by taking the stand and lying to the jury for 18 days

  3. On the eve of 'America's Forth of July,

    I found this resolution interesting.

Resolution of the Continental Congress Disbanding the Continental Army, 2 June 1784.

So it was Resolved, That the commanding officer be, and he is hereby directed to discharge the troops now in the service of the United States, except 25 privates, to guard the stores at Fort Pitt, and 55 to guard the stores at West Point and other magazines, with a proportionate number of officers; no officer to remain in service above the rank of a captain, and those privates to be retained who were inlisted on the best terms: Provided Congress, before its recess, shall not take other measures respecting the disposition of those troops. That the arrearages of their pay and rations after the 3d of November last, be settled in the same manner as the accounts of the troops lately discharged; and that the Superintendant of Finance take order for furnishing them two months pay.

Fort Pitt is 'Pittsburgh' and was the Fort used during the Indian uprising of 1763 in which British soldiers gave blankets and hankies to the Indians. Those items had smallpox on them!

This resolution brought into existence the short lived Legion of the United States.

  4. Come on now. GW Bush got into the Air National Guard because of his father. GW Bush fought the Vietnam war over the skys of Alabama - USA.

John Kerry on the other hand actually went to Vietnam. And was shot at with real bullits in a combat zone.

    The comparison is a stretch.dog_running-186.gif

    Actually not......

Everybody knows that GWB was a devoted patriot during the VietNam War

just like the chaps who drove and stayed in Canada where devoted patriots.

  5. That's what happend to us and also why I did it for about a year. (Went back to the military though afterwards, as many here know.)

The USA was founded wiith the usage of mercenaries. I think if our country wanted to

they could find an abundance of third-world soldiers to fight

as mercenaries in our proxy wars and it would not cost us much in the process.

    As for my original question

"What would Audie Murphy have said about expending 100,000 rounds of ammo just to kill one enemy?"

  6. "The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in war."

I don't think Audie Murphy would have said that.

I think he would say "Go learn to shoot!"

Would it not be cheaper to hire mercenaries?

  7. It is worse that a lot of people, including you, heard "1billion rounds of ammo" and instantly thought the worst. Yet a simple Google search came up with multipul items citing credible sources and simple math showing this "conspiracy" was nothing of the sort.

Ask any USMC weapons training Sgt.; the USMC spends about 100,000 round of ammo training for every 1 round shot in combat.... You dont get good shooting 50 rounds every now and then, you do it shooting a TON.

What would Audie Murphy have said about such figures?

  8. The best show in town is the

    Jodi Anias murder trial.

Today she told about how her ex-boyfriend wanted

to tie her to a tree and 'fark' her arse.

Yesterday she told about how he liked little boys.

    A few days before that,

she told how her ex-boyfriend baptized her into the Mormon faith

and then took her back to his home and then poked her in the arse.

I figure that in a week or two she will be done testifying

and almost demand Obie One to come and give her a metal

    for killing her ex-boyfriend.

Too bad she wasn't in the marines..........

She stabbed the 'trash' 29 times, slit his throat from ear to ear and put 2 bullets in his head!!

  9. If he had checked fare compare, he could have bought a round trip ticket on U.S. Airways for $276.00, with a Saturday night stay over. By the way, has his secret service agents been in Vegas for the past couple of days, checking out hookers, I mean possible threats to the President?

He could have borrowed my ass free of charge.

    I never use it.

  10. This land is mine ...

    ------------------------

President Barack Obama will fly over 9 hours tomorrow, round-trip from Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas, Nevada, just to deliver a speech on immigration, according to the president's White House schedule. With Air Force One estimated to cost $182,000 per hour in flight, Obama's trip--that is, only his travel to and from Vegas--will cost taxpayers over $1.6 million.

Obama has no other public events scheduled in Las Vegas but his immigration speech.

"In the morning, the President will depart the White House en route Las Vegas, Nevada. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at McCarran International Airport are open press," the president's schedule reads.

"While in Las Vegas, the President will deliver remarks on the need to fix the broken immigration system so that it is fairer for and helps grow the middle class by ensuring everyone plays by the same rules. The President's remarks at Del Sol High School are open to pre-credentialed media.

"In the evening, the President will depart Las Vegas, Nevada en route Washington, DC. The departure from McCarran International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press."

Why doesn't somebody give O'bama a one legged scooter?

You would think some Republican could afford to buy Obama one!

  11. Yep, the legal spouse (even if common law) should be responsible.

When I was a teen, we had a nympho neighbour who divorced her husband to live with her lover. Her lover knocked her up, and she went to court to ask for child support form her ex. The judge looked her in the eye and pointed at her ex-husband. "Is that man the father of this child?" She admitted he wasn't, though she had still been married to him at the time of conception. The judge rapped the gavel and said "case dismissed". Then he called her lawyer over and chewed him out. In Kansas the judge might have given it to her.

Blood test would have cleared the matter.

I knew a guy who got a girl knocked up. She went to the court and got a court order for him to show up

and give a blood test. The blood was given, he failed the test and the guy was off the hook.

He had his friend who looked like him show up and he gave the blood.
