having exhausted the rental possibilities in Korat - didn't take long I have now ventured south to Phuket. Anybody know of a decent house to rent long term up to 25000 Bt.

Checked out the gazette but no luck so far.

I'm looking at Korat for a change of location for a year or 2.

IMHO, The only way to get a good property at a reasonable price is going down there and spend some time looking around,and asking local expats. The stuff in the gazette tends to be in the "upper asking price" catagory. Phuket is now quite expensive but based on my experience which is 2 years out of date, you should be able to get something pretty reasonable for 25K.

Yes got a nice house just outside Phuket town - had to pay 30000 but having lookad at quite a lot figured it was worth it.

I got nowhere in khorat - just no farang base for contacts. Thai GF was clueless for knowing anywhere to rent. Even though her village is only 10 km from Khorat it may as well be on another planet
