Torneyboy
What is going on here. He takes a pill to reduce fluid in his body and then goes out in 40C heat to play. Do you think it is an innocent mistake and the ACB will let it go? They say it can mask the use of steroids so to get his shoulder fixed quickly...did he?? Shame Shane! Long Gun
"Our preparation has been mostly relaxed. Most of us trained for an hour or two most days, doing what we had to do to keep in trim without tiring ourselves out. On a lighter note, I was intrigued to see an Afrikaans-language newspaper suggesting that I have had a facelift. It seems that a plastic surgeon thought it suspicious that I do not have more wrinkles after losing weight" - Shane Warne looks forward to the World Cup in today's Times. Comedy is all about timing, isn't it? From 'The Fiver' via Long Gun
gobbledonk
As with the Indian betting fiasco, Warne has donned his 'scolded schoolboy' look and pleaded ignorance to a public who should know better by now. I have little doubt that sports physicians dole out anything that will get their charge back on the paddock as quickly as possible, and Warne has simply been caught out. He's made his millions - I am of the belief that he should bow out (reasonably) gracefully.
Torneyboy
bow out You really think he should go now? All the facts arn't in yet and the B sample has to be tested as well. I think the Aust cricket board will help him avoid quiting do you think so?
Guest
He was playing cricket again in a shorter time than it would normally take for a dislocated shoulder to heal properly and has also lost a few kilos. Question is taking drugs to speed up a healing process, which is a best guess at this one, the same as enhancing performance? So many of these sportsmen that get caught come out with the line that they didnt know it contained banned substances etc. It always takes a bit of swallowing. (The line that is, not the drugs) Anyway the World Cup will be a lot worse off without him.

Redbaron
Very silly indeed. Playing the "naive" lad may have worked in the betting scandal, but he's a veteran now.... doesn't look good for the big vic

Tone
It would be great to have him back in the side but it looks like the boys will do just as well without him. A world cup victory would be a great way for him to go out though.
