My info is a couple of years old (last there at the 2001 Grand Prix in March) but it should get you started.

 

Hard Rock has some freelancers but not many.

 

The hotel next to the Hard Rock (actually, attached) has a Massage Parlor on the 2nd Floor. Can't remember the name at 130AM (my time).

 

Beach Club and the several other joints in front of the Shangri-La have some girls, also, and they are open till 2-3 AM.

 

Lot of escort agencies in the phone book, and most of these are reputable.

Disco across the street from ShangriLa/Beach Club has some freelancers but is quite noisy. Difficult to make eye contact, but not impossible.

 

There are a lot of massage parlors in Chinatown, with Thai, Malay and INdo girls. Depends on what you want. Get a good taxi driver and they'll fix you up.

 

There is also a decent bar area about 15 minutes out of town called Bangsar. About 50 bars with most professional men/women (not working girls) who go there for fun and song.

Look for health / massage / fitness centres, there are quite a few in hotels especially round Chinatown where I stayed, my hotel had one and I never went there once ! - I was always too tired from trying the other ones and having fun with my clothes on. The quality of the girls on offer in the places was mixed.

 

There is also a red light area. Strangely if you get a Rough Guide it will tell you where it is. I was there a couple of years ago and the quality was not good. It might have improved since but I saw a few katoeys. They also mention a famous / infamous hotel where a cartoonist has his work on display. I cannot remember the name of it at the moment. I would go to the 4th floor of The Furama Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Been a LOOONG time since I've been, but last time I was there it was 130 RM for a Thai /Malay / Indo girl, or 230 RM for a Russian girl. They had about 15 Russian girls there, and all looked okay to very good. The hotel is in Chinatown in Jalan Sultan. Around the corner is The Malaya Hotel, which has a nicer "health club" - doesn't feel so seedy. About 30 RM more for your fun, but definitely worth it.
