ultras67
This happened to a teacher I worked with. We are employed at a school through an agency. At the end of the last school year - March - the agency offered new contracts and this chap wanted a bit more money. Negotiations went through March with little movement, so he started looking round for a new job, just in case. April came and was almost over, then on the 29th the agency said, we dont want you. We have all the teachers we need. OK he said, I will get a new job. The catch was the agency backdated his WP cancellation to April 3 which of course means his Visa is buggered in 7 days. A very large and very uncessary overstay payment was then required. The good news is, Jim now has a new job at a higher rate of pay and the agency has lost a good teacher who covered absent colleagues on a regular basis for the sake of 1000B a month. And by the way, the agency is still trying to find about 5 teachers for the school. See Thailand, see Agencies, see The Truth. Not in this lifetime you wont. :onfire:
whosyourdaddy
He could have probably fought it since they need a dates signed letter from the teacher to cancel the work permit!
