"Whether she wins the final or not, Miyazaki will have a busy year of engagements both in Japan and overseas. "It's a bit overwhelming because I am from a small country town and have only ever been abroad to Tahiti and South Korea," she says. During her travels, she hopes to bring Japanese culture to the world, especially calligraphy (in which she is 8th dan), which she hopes to teach one day. Having assumed the mantle of Miss Japan has put Miyazaki's regular routine temporarily on hold, which means she can't indulge her passions of swimming and basketball (not to mention eating cheesecake ? for now, it's strawberries and watermelon).
