Interesting disclaimer at the front of the book: "The sex industry in Thailand is smaller per capita than in Taiwan, the Philippines or the United States. That it is more famous is probably because Thais are less coy about it than many other people. I took what he said in the Author's Note to indicate that he may want to go to Thailand to write another novel and not that he is ignorant of what goes on there.
