Savittre
My plan is to get work at a school first, then secondly get a place to stay that will be near the school. While I'm looking for a school, I want to stay at a place that's not too expensive ('cause I've got no income incoming) and is decent although obviously basic. My friend recommended around Soi Ngam Duplee area, some guesthouses there in the original backpackers section. I'd like something kinda quiet, by that I mean away from junkies, down and out scam artists, so is the area he recommended going to be OK for me? I like that it's not too far from the Skytrain. Any thoughts? Thanks
Guest
I would not recommend the Soi Ngam Duplee area at all. Plenty of creeps and scammers and plus it has to be the ugliest area of Bangkok..anywhere but there man.
Guest
Sukhumvit in the Soi 31++ to On Nut. Plenty of "mansion" type places in the Sois around 6,000 baht and right on the skytrain. I looked at a place one time I think was in Soi 45 but don't remember exactly. Right next to a walkover that has a school on the other side (even side) of Sukhumvit. I found it from the classifieds in the Bangkok Post.
