gene1944
Central Dept store has transformers but the best selection I found was at Home Pro hardware store btwn Chitlom- Ploencit BTS station. You can walk from the BTS station directly into the store in the Blue Wave bldg I think.

Guest
that does seem kind of high ( watts) for a solid state device: does it have internal power supply, or "wall wart" type> if so ( wall wart) it mite be easier to get a 220 v wall wart that powers it. lopburi3
You should, as you said, get at least a 300w or 300va transformer and they should be available at any large hardware store, department store, Home Pro type store. Larger 500w size would be best as they are often over rated. I assume your x box can operate on 50Hz? As you seem to have a built in power supply designed for the US market it may, repeat may, not last long at 50Hz. They build things as cheap as they are able for the US. Guest
I have been using a Protech 220/110 50-60 Hz., 200 W. transformer almost continuously for 2 years. It has air vents, on/off switch, on/off indicator lamp and a replaceable fuse and seems to be well made. I use it for a few electronic items from from the US and have had no problem. I bought it at a Big C, but don't remember the price but it was cheap enough that I bought 2.
