gawguy
This is on my second computer. The computer freezes during the shutddown process. Perhaps a program or process is not shutting down? How do I find out? I've tried repairing the W2000 installation from the CD ROM. No luck. I think / hope this is the only bug left on this machine. When I resolve it I can mirror the drive. Thanks, GG
check_bin_krap
Although it may be a time consuming process, I would recommend that you follow these steps: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315409 The first thing I would do is to make sure all updates are installed, go to Windows update: www.microsoft.com/windowsupdate Especially important updates here for this problem is any device driver updates + service pack. Then, follow the other steps in the article. Cheers!
Guest
Also try checking your power management settings in the BIOS and then in Win 2000. Try enabling or disabling ACPI power management, see what that does. And setting power management to 'user defined'.
