Torneyboy Posted July 23, 2003 Report Share Posted July 23, 2003 My wifes sister on tg 992 tonight. Aircraft inbound fom New Zealand some one on board very sick (serious) and turned back. Depart Sydney 4.30pm delayed to 6.30. Now 8.45Pm another delay and will be held over due to our cerfew. Her Papa was to drive from floating markets to pick her up . I have arranged a hotel in BKK for her tonight as will get in very late and no way start a drive of 2 hours tonight IMO. A great example of travel insurance (or in her case the lack of it) Would have paid for all the phone calls tonight,transfers plus one night BKK hotel stay plus meals etc etc. Never travel without travel insurance...a small part of the holiday IMHO. With the net and increased competition, prices are low, especially if you buy / want / need an annual policy. Sorry to hear about your sister in-law's misfortune but an unpleasant reminder to all out there to make sure that you haven't overlooked this precaution.
