mongatu
I have the little Lonely Planet phrase book and I must say I have found it pretty frustrating to use, but better than nothing of course. The dictionary in the back is especially deficient imo. Anyone know of anything better that is available?

Pescator
Hi, You cannot use this tiny dictionary much. If you cannot read thai yet I would recommend the Jumbo English Thai Dictionary by Gordon H.Allison. It contains more than 10.000 words and equally important it offers explanations and commentary throughout the dictionary. Cheers Hua Nguu
Guest
Thai-English English-Thai Dictionary and Phrasebook By James Higbie Title is as it appears on the cover. It is a pocket dictionary. The nice thing about it is the ease of use concerning tones. HT
mongatu
Thanks all for the recommendations. I read some positive reviews of the Higbee book at Amazon. Only negative was no Thai script included. But perhaps I'll try it.

mongatu
Well, even with the Lonely Planet phrase book, I have on occaision found it useful to be able to show Thai people the Thai script. It was easier for them to understand.
