walletss
Does anyone know the current prices of The new Ipod range? I noticed they now have a 40 gig model and prices seem to have dropped in recent weeks. If I can get a good deal I will wait till my next trip and get one in Pantip. BritTim
Historically, Bangkok has not been a great place to buy Apple kit. I happened to be in Panthip Plaza today and asked about the new iPod. Bottom line: not yet in town, expected in about two months. The old 30GB model is quoted at 23,500 baht (US$577.67 at today's exchange rate). I would guess you might get 1,000 baht knocked off with bargaining. This compares to the best current price in the US for this model of under US$440.
steffi
Bangkok is an ok place to buy computer kit just not small things like ipod or isights. For instance, isights are about $190 USD here. And you cannot expect the price adjustment for the 40 gig here in BKK for a while. It's actually cheaper to order online on most Applestores than pay the price the Apple dealers in Bangkok are asking. G5 prices seem ok as well as prices for laptops and flat panels. walletss
Thanks for the info. In that case the prices have not taken the dip they have taken In aus where you can get the 40 gig for 899 aud. There is a new 30gig mp3 player by Creative called the zen but the reviews have not been as ecstatic as they have been for ipod.
