Torneyboy
Oz Government wants new changes in Duty free allowances in place by the end of September. In time for the international visitors for the World Rugby Cup. The allowance for alcohol will be doubled and the amount of purchases to rise from $400 to 900 before taxable on arrival. Good news for end of year travellers

Double to what? Booze is already 2 litres (but you have to check a box about that in your customs arrival card). I don't see the govt allowing 4 litres. Maybe shifting that "declare second bottle" rule can be taken as doubling.
Torneyboy
Hi TTM Breaking news. Double is double to me the way the 6pm news said.. I have always taken three bottles through..a few times questioned...but tax was less so let it go..also checked that i was an agent and let me go. 900aud is good ..right on christmas. Unless they mean 2 litres...and no box to tick and do not have to go through the red gate?
