dsab
I am flying this weekend with my GF to Hong Kong. Do you know of any places there similar to Panthip ? I would like to buy some DVD's, as it gets more and more complicated in BKK these days. Hopefully things will improve after APEC.
Bhat_Man
Try Mongkok! 5 stops from Central on the Tsuen Wan MTR line! There is no designated "shopping centre" like Panthip with everything under one roof but if you spend some time wandering the streets of Mong Kok then you will notice places which sell knock down mobiles, cameras, playstations and cd's. These may be singular outlets or groped together in an arcade style set up. DVD's tend be sold by little fellas with them dished out on a table along the pavement! Generally speaking if your looking for DVD's then popping over the border to China is the best bet but then you will need a chinese visa and its a long haul. IMO you are better getting the DVD's at Panthip. I have found the quality far superior to anything I have bought in HK and of course you always get the thai subtitles so your tilac can enjoy them
