Leeds player quizzed in 'sex assault'

 

 

Leeds United footballer was being questioned on Wednesday in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault on a 20-year-old woman.

 

West Yorkshire Police confirmed two men arrested in connection with the alleged attack in Leeds on Monday were still in custody.

 

It is believed one man is a Leeds United player who was arrested at the team's training ground at Thorp Arch, near Wetherby, in West Yorkshire, yesterday and is being held at Chapeltown Police Station, in Leeds.

 

The other man is not understood to be a footballer.

 

A second footballer from the Premiership club is believed to have talked to police officers at Wetherby Police Station yesterday in connection with the matter but he was not arrested.

 

A police spokeswoman refused to confirm any connection with Leeds United but the football club issued a statement yesterday pledging full support to the investigation.

 

Today the police spokeswoman said: 'All I can confirm is that two men are still in custody.'

 

Last night, police and forensic experts were conducting a meticulous search of a lay-by in countryside on the main A58 Leeds to Wetherby road.

 

The lay-by was taped off with officers in protective suits conducting fingertip searches under arc lights.

 

Police refused to comment on reports that the alleged incident happened at the home of a third Leeds player about whom no complaint was made.

Whats wrong with these players??

 

For once it wasn't Leeds in the headlines for the wrong reasons when it comes to the London case. Guess the players didn't like that, and did something about it.

 

I have a pretty good idea who the guy is, it doesn't take an Einstein to figure it out if you know a bit about these guys past. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
