markle
A question to all the computer geeks. I?ve been trying to put some Thai fonts I?ve got onto the computer namely into Word. After fiddling around for a while I?ve come to the realization that I need to get them into the file/folder that reads complex scripts (as opposed to Latin texts) by putting them into the Windows/Fonts, they don?t seem to be recognized as complex scripts so whenever I hit the ?~? key to change the script to Thai the default Windows Thai scripts come up (Angsana, Cordia etc) I?m using Win98 Thai version. Thanks
Boo Radley
What happens when you try to select the Thai font you want from within Word? ie not using the Thai-Eng keyboard switcher.
markle
Says Boo Radley: What happens when you try to select the Thai font you want from within Word? ie not using the Thai-Eng keyboard switcher. It simply writes out in Roman script. All these TTF files have both a latin text and complex script component. By putting the TTF file into the Windows Font folder it will read the Latin text but when converting to complex script to doesn't recognise them (they don't appear as options in the complex script list) I want to know how to get them recognised as complex scripts. Guest
I'm no geek and I don't use 'Word', but I would suggest the option to enable them is within the Word program, since you already have then on the computer.
adikgede
This is a question that comes up from time to time in the technology forum. The answer depends on a lot of particulars such as, what OS, which version, and what applications you need to use. I suggested the following link to ks recently, perhaps you will find it helpfull. http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/index.html
