Only 25 million Teochews around the world, but remarkably successful. Not least so in Thailand. Many leading Thai businessmen and politicians are Teochew. In his speech he mentioned Mr Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, the owner of Chang Beer, whose Chinese surname is Su, and Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Somkid Jatusripitak.
