Torneyboy Posted December 8, 2003 Report Share Posted December 8, 2003 Jintara to perform two concerts in Australia..Saturday night 6th and In Melbourne 7th. This is my first Thai Concert: Show from 7.30 till 10Pm Venue is a club deep in the heart of a Thai/Lao/Vietnamese communities. Tickets all sold...700...AUD 25-30...say 750 THB we arrived at 5pm .. Our seats where about six feet from the stage..could not get better seats. i noticed straight away..no band set up (being an old muso)..Ok Thai concert..wait and see. The show open with an MC and he sings (to recorded background music)...tells a few jokes etc. Then some dancers come out ..all in jeans (my point) no color/glamour etc. They come and go...a guy comes out..tells us he owns a flower shop up the road..and sings two songs (also recorded music backup) then announces he is giving a concert December 30th. Then Jintaras brother comes out ..and is on stage for the rest of the show...good personality and not a bad singer ...to me anyway. Dancers come back .....and another guy sings ..and says Jintara will be on after him. Time now is 9.20. Oh i forgot...In the auditorium they had a Thai food stall..boxes of food etc and a bar. On our table they all had food in their bags they walked in with. So the table was like a mini restaurant...we were two at the front of a table of 14...all shared ..no question at all. My wife knows the lady that arranged for her to come to Australia so we were in the loop..for want of a better word. Jintara performed in BKK on Friday night...jumped on a plane to Sydney ..arrives Saturday Morning..performs...next morning to Melbourne..Monday back to BKK for 2 concerst in Isaan. Anyway..on the plane she is not well ..sore throat..brother says to have some wine :: She has a busy time in the area and has lunch in Cabramatta and goes to her room to relax before the show. Ok...back to 9.20....we see the Oz manager go outside ..and on the mobile...we all thought Jintara was backstage...oh no...she is back at her room...ASLEEP...anyway ..she arrives and walks through the main doors..to our backs...to her sig song...all hell breaks out..900 flash bulbs go off and a roar to wake the dead. She somehow makes it to the stage and talks to us ...mai sabaii..pats her head....voice a little croaky..but even more sexy IMO :: Finishes the song (recorded music)...Oh..the whole thing is being filmed BTW. In Issan..i dont understand at all ...but wifes friends help us ..says is happy to come to Australia...but difficult as she has 300 people in her shows ..can notstop)it..(took some time) for them to get accross to me ..not 300 people running accross BKK from venue to venue....just a total number in her shows. she may only sing for one hour..but five times.. ...she said she is booked for next THREE years!! For the next half hour or so she is on her haunches getting flowers put around her neck.......yellow and some paper link things...some people are giving her cash...50-100AUD THB1250-2500 in her hand ...she then gives to her brother :: Up to this point i thought it was amature hour at the local school :: Ok..now she starts to sing to her recorded tracks..a lot of people start to dance Thai style..some falang...20 max. Sings a few songs ...more chat...then the photos start....a million people forge to the stage all trying to either hang flowers over her head or get a close up photo.....thats when i come in ::.....my wife drags me(yeah right) to the stage to hold a finger of Jintara while my wife snaps away....ok not bad ..go back to our table. Jintara...is a real trooper..not to well...show must go on...kids come up ..she puts them on stage for a photo shoot..nothing to much for her. Then a break in the show...about 10.15....takes some people out of the room to a private room ( my wife and i as well) Lots of talk ...and photos..all signed by her..this was great...i got a cuddle from her/held my hand....and.....and ...and....got to give her a kiss on the cheek..i have photo proof!! Then back on stage till 12.10am!!! While on stage ....more flowers and lots of signing of cds etc...she loves her fans and did a wonderfull job.....while not feeling 100%. We got to walk her to the car after the show and say goodbye....a lovely lady ..although not a concert as we thought..but a great meet and greet......i am in love :: My first Thai ""concert""...well i will go again for sure .....family night out rather than to a show as such..i /we enjoyed Jintara :: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't believe she is really booked up three years in advance though. She always comes out with exagerations or just plain makes stuff up. At the london concert she told everyone I had given her some money when they did not have any for petrol and the bus was stranded.Never happened that way at all.Lets hope she gets a holiday and the people around her look after her a bit more-peter Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
thai3 Posted December 8, 2003 Report Share Posted December 8, 2003 Check out her new stable mate at master tape Nok Pornphana, or is it Pornapha.I think she has only released one CD which was quite a hit. Saw her with Jint at a concert and at the thai cultural centre rachada where she seemed to top the bill. She is a cute tiny girl with a great luktung voice and I think she will be a big name, but then the competition is so fierce who knows. I think she is a better singer than the new grammy find thi oranthai that a lot rave about. Pumpuang once said a great luktung singer was one who knew how to get the emotion of the lyrics across, which she could do in her ballads like nobody else, sometimes agonisingly beautifully with almost too much feeling.Today a lot of singers just trot out the words but this girl seems to put a bit of thought into her delivery -peter Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just in case the shop is not up do date with her.
