stumpy
I see some airlines are changing their routes to fly clear of Afghanistan. Anyone know if China Airlines has made any changes on it's route BKK to Schipol? Thanks in advance.
Savittre
Hi stump_dog. I'm in Taiwan, so I'll call them Monday morning my time, and post what they tell me for you to read. In the meantime, their website might have the info you want. Yeah, man, and my next flight to LOS was supposed to be on Swissair!! F***!!!

Guest
All-- I was just at Changi ATC (Air Traffic Control)... This center control the vast majority of inboud/outbound traffic from SIN/BKK/KUL and other regional ports... The maps I saw all had special "closed" zones around Afghani airspace. I would suspect that all airlines are observing these closed areas... After all, the airlines' insurance companies will not honor any claims if they fly in "unapproved" areas and something goes wrong... For example, UPS is now flying a slightly different pattern from BKK to SIN and on to our Middle East hub in Dubai (UAE) ---UPSer
Boo Radley
On a similar note, I seem to remember reading in the Bangkok Post a couple of days ago that Thai Airways BKK-LHR now avoids Afgan airspace adding 50-60 mins to the flight time.
