Fiery Jack
Whatever became of that case, heavily publicised around last October, where a 17-year old bird claimed she'd been raped by a group of Premier League players in a London hotel? Did it just go away? :: Apologies if I've missed something: Xmas and New Year were, admittedly, something of a "blur" (jet lag and exhaustion, etc. ), but I don't recall anything on the News about it? jack
sayjann
it was decided that all charges were to be dropped against the 2 Footballers and their 2 friends. so the Girl must have been 'lying' about what happened?
carew66
Not directly involved, nor party to any info but this job stinks. As the determinative factor in any trial for rape is consent (or rather, lack of it) then obviously the CPS couldn't see that they had a strong enough case, what it being essentially her word against theirs. Which is typical. I would hazard a guess though that the Fat Lady hasn't quite started singing.
SiLeakHunt
Charges dropped by Police, but there was talk on the news of her taking a civil action. However unless her old fella's a barrister and can do it on the house, or seriously wealthy, she ain't got a chance against the sort of briefs 4 blokes on 70 Grand a week can hire. cheers
carew66
Oh, I dunno Sil - ever heard of 'pro bono'? Civil action is the dogs bollox strategy anyway. More people should do this imo - balance of probabilities see? And - and, oh how I love this - the monkeys would have to stand up and speak (vocalise / make noise with mouth). Oh, pass the rope please.
