Okay, been reading several paperbacks recently. (There's a first). Set in the States. There have been references to people being called "Crackers" as in "that no good, red neck cracker...."

One book referred to somebody from Georgia being called a cracker but it wasn't a derogatory term.

Now what I want to know is who or what is a cracker? Is it a derogatory term or Apologies to all the British pop pickers out there for diverging from an otherwise fine tirade of nonsense, sorry posts, about Wombles, The Blow Monkeys, Chavs, Colin Farrell etc.) ::

Hi

In Oz the term would mean the person is crazy/stupid.

Not used these days however,
