Guest lazyphil
Looks pretty shambolic so far based on what I saw on TV yesterday. The main standium super structure was covered in rust--is this normal?
Guest
A disaster of the Atlanta scale awaits. Consider that Sydney was all but complete 12-18 months in advance and was hosting major events simultaenously as tests, there is no hope. Mydas strikes again. sayjann
there's been a big thing about this the last few days on 5 Live. they have a reporter out there and he is going around looking at the venues. not looking so good by all accounts. the roof for the main Stadium was suppossed to be in place for the opening, but now looks like there will be no roof. and this was the main selling point of the Greeks manifesto. the swimming pool looks like it will also be without a roof subjecting the competitors and spectators no protection from the sun. and they still haven't concreted the marathon route. fun and games to be had before the Games open. Torneyboy
Hi The IOC are there now doing a complete review of all venues. The roof on the main stadium is not a concern ....Most Olympics were minus a roof. The one on the pool complex is a worry for the swimmers however. 100 days ....maybe they can get things on track ...no punn
BelgianBoy
TB, Dont worry, I'll bill enough as well hopefully...... As for the swimmers, nope, no roff, that project was abandoned last month already, no chance to get that back on track on time. Somewhere the IOC is to blame here as well, knowing the reputation of the Greec, and knowing the Olimpics were just handed to them because of the anniversary of the games, they should have made a better planning 4-5 years ago and stick to it. All too late now....... BB
