sinsin2
OK. We need an International Driving Permit to legally drive in Thailand. We get this in our home countries from the local Automobile Association etc. Where in Thailand does a Thai national get one And what obstacles Am I to expect? i.e. pay some slimeball to stamp the paperand if so how much? Guest
You can get a Thai based International Drivers License "Na Na Chart Bi Khap kee" at the Motor Vehicles department by Sukhumvit soi 61. There is also a MV department by Chatuchak, but I don't know where. You will need a Thai drivers license that is on its second annual renewal and then pay a small fee. Not sure what else you will need to show besides the Thai drivers license. If you need to know about procedures for Thai license I have a prepared write-up and can post it.
