pattaya127
I have friends who are looking for a nice hotel (2000 bahts OK) near the Indoor Stadium, Sport Authority of Thailand, Huamark. Or if someone can tell me where is Hua mark district and what are the ways to get there (skytrain, train, taxi?), in case i can't find it myself, on a map, at home. Thanks
MooNoi
Hi P127, Hua Mark is on the eastern side of Bangkok, near a place called "Bang Kapi". Its easy enough to get there by taxi, (or bus if you have lots of time), but the traffic getting there can be bad. (But this is BKK, so what's new?!) No sky train unfortunately. Rama 9 Road runs right through Hua Mark. Do you know Ramkhamhaeng? Its around that area if you do. As for hotels, there is the Bangkok Inter Place (Amazing how the price drops away from Suk!) This place is really close to the stadium. Or there is the Dynasty Hotel Hua Mark (Not to be confused with soi 4 version!!!) or finally the Alexander Hotel From Sukhumwit Soi 4 , in "normal" Bangkok traffic, (i.e. not in peak hour), just to give you an idea, about 20-30 minutes in a cab. (Northeast of the Suk Soi 4 area). As for a map, if you have the current Lonely Planet, (with the close-up of the Buddha's eyes on the cover), go to the "Greater Bangkok" map on Page 145. (English version - maybe if you have it you have the French one???) Look on the right-hand side of the map and you'll see Bang Kapi and Rama 9. (Rama 9 Rd written as "Phra Ram IX") Hope this helps you, and make mine a Kloster! FlyP

Guest
"BANGKOK INTERPLACE" I had very bad service, they cleaned my room every once in a while, even calling them twice didn't work, I had rats come into my room from a hole in the toilet where there's a little iron door that can't be closed, also my toilet was always full with ants, on toothpaste, toothbrush, I had to remove them every day. I could continue on and on and on, rotten tomatoes in the sandwich at the restaurant downstairs, and the manager was soooo rude, they stole 1700 euros which I had left in the safety box, they didn't want to give it back so I called the police who didn't do anything about it, the manager told me "we are a 200 million hotel, you are just one farang one nothing!" After, the manager has asked me to leave because I called the police and caused bad publicity! I tried to get information about her staff to find out who could have taken the money she said that they weren't thieves and that foreigners were all thieves! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS???? This is ridiculous, these people are INSANE and this is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at (and I lived in Thailand for almost a year in different locations)!!!! As soon as I go back home I will start a _real_ lawsuit through the embassy to get my money back. Oh I didn't mention, while I was there they were drilling ALL DAY and night and I couldn't get any sleep and when I complained to the manager (same crazy woman) she said I should check out if I don't like it!!! This place is out of this world, avoid it, like pestilence!!
