Long-stay tourism will be promoted?

According to Bangkok Post a new special body has been set up to promote, and help, the long-stay tourism business. Officially, 7,200 foreigners stay on and on in Thailand - and the government wants to boost that number to 24,000 by next year.

A new office will be located at the former TAT office on Ratchadamnoen Avenue, and will provide services to long-stay tourists from helping with visas to setting standards for their accomodation.

And it's not even April Fool's Day today smile.gif" border="0
