karaoke closing times start seeing enforcement

I recall when the latest zonings and closing times were rolled out, they curiously specified karaoke venues had to close at 1am, not 2am like other places. Anyone know the reason for this difference? It's odd to me because karaoke is usually the last place Thai's go in the course of a night and they traditionally stay open way later than anything else.

 

In the last month, I have experienced a patpong karoake place saying up front they do enforce close at 1am. Then another far away thai hangout that closes at 6am the police came in at 4am, the monitors immediately shut and after a while they closed it. It was fairly full at the time as it's one of the places NEP girls like to go after work (2am).

 

So there does seem to be a bit of pressure on karaoke which is the thing that used to be the best bet for late outings. Still very easy to find karaoke open all night, but enforcement is starting to come into play.
