Pescator Posted August 12, 2004 Report Share Posted August 12, 2004 Recently returned from Kata in Phuket, where we spent a few evenings at the Prawn Fishing Restaurant in Kata. The restaurant is situated in a nice and quiet area off the Patak Road (east). They have what at first appears to be a swimming pool with an elavated tiled edge on which you can sit or you have a table and chairs brought to the pool. There is a roof over the entire pool so that you wont be bothered by rain or direct sunlight. The water is coloured slightly dark blue so that you cannot actually see the prawns. At 100 bht an hour you will be given a fishing road and a plate of thinly sliced pieces of chicken heart to use as bait. It turned out to be a pretty good deal as my son caught 7 tiger prawns within an hour. Preparing them is included in the price. Good fun for the entire family or GF. Saw quite a few thai girls enjoyed themselves immensely. We also found the food in the adjoining outdoor restaurant to be very good. Had "Plaa Neung Buay" on both occasions. Wow - good stuff.
