Pescator
Hi Stumpdog, The polite version of this would be: Kor Gai Phat Katiam Prik Thai lair Gor Khao Plao (Jaan Neung) na Khrap. Then you get a teller of plain rice on the side. "I would like/can I have" used in this context is Kor with a rising tone. In food stalls I am often asked like this: Aow Arai Dee? Then I don´t use "Kor" but instead "Aow" as well. The expression for fried chicken in thai depends a bit on what variety of fried chicken you´d like. Chicken fried in oil is Gai Thawt and fried on a pan you use the word Phat. Cheers Hua Nguu
Lamock Chokaprret
Actually I was taught the polite form of request would be yaak dai gai... Of course, the truth is you don't hear this much and doubtful you'd ever hear it at a street stall.
