About a month ago they went to the UK embassy, smartly dressed, explained they wanted a visitors visa and got one a few hours later. I suspect like everything in life appearance and attitude count for a lot, with a bit of luck of course. I am going to ask him for the full story to see if there is anything he can advise to help. What may have made a difference is that he works here and was booked on the same flight back as her. I don't know. Will post again tomorrow. My GF had tried to get a US visa to visit her sister, who is studying there, refused, then applied to get a tourist visa to UK.... refused. Some months later we both went together and got one in 2 hours. Mike Smith's book "Bangkok Angel" has a similar story in it. Well worth reading for anyone thinking of tying the knot with a FBR GF.
