It's truly a case of thai/farang reciprocation, wondering at each other. We are also disturbed our fair share at thais view on money. I think a difference as far as US, is that here, people might be obsessed in terms of losing it/some (savings, job loss, etc....) and thais obsessed in having it, because IME, they are not saving much, even when they could. I am reminded of the thai wife who exploded when her hubby and I were talking about money not growing on trees. "all you farang think is money, money, money". We were speechless (in amazement) for a while, then hubby said: "OK, we won't talk about it anymore, neither you. Don't ask me to buy this or that, don't complain i did not send any to your family, etc... You're right, let's not think about it. EVER!". Or maybe i said it. her argument turned short.
