fatbastard33
Has anybody got any idea when the National Elections will take place in January 2005? I remember being in Bkk a few years ago when there was a ban on booze for about 36 hours during the elections. Cheers Fatbastard33

Yehtmae
Won't help much. It's a national ban. Usually actually stricter in the provinces than Bangkok.
rickfarang
I think the last time it was mentioned on the TV news, they are thinking about mid Feb, as LaoHuli said, but they haven't pinned the date down. Perhaps it could go as late as March. It will be interesting to watch, but yeah, maybe nightlife will be a hassle as the conservatives try to score points with their constituency. Redbaron
Gees, that's about the time I'llbe over there too, hope the ban on booze isn't too big, I get the wobbles if I stay sober for too long.
Guest
It is not only the actual day of the elections you need to worry about. In a run up to an election politicians everywhere, but particularly here, like dramatic events to "prove" that they are doing something to solve a perceived problem, and preferrably events that provide good photo ops, such as a crusading fighter against social vices leading a raid on...well use your imagination.
