JetCity
So, mt PSTG (psycho thai girlfriend) is on the phone with her friend who she is trying to invite out for a double date with me, her, her friend and my friend, who her friend hasn't yet met. I'm listening to her conversation and she says ... Moo Farang Peuen Lor Lor. all ok to me but "Moo Farang" ... What the F**K was that about! So I ask her and she tells me she is speaking Lao with her friend and Moo means Friend in Lao. So she was saying "My Farang friend's friend is handsome". Please, someone who knows Lao, tell me, is this BS or is it true. I'm back in BKK tomorow night and I need to know whether or not to make an issue of it. Thanks, - Jet
Guest
"moo" means more or less the same as "puak" in central thai, a group of friends. nothing to worry about.
Pescator
Hi Jetcity, Moo with low tone, long vowel: Think Moo Baan - a group of houses forming a village or Moo Koh - Fill in the blank - a cluster of islands Nai Moo - Among Moo with rising tone, long vowel: Well, you know that yourself I am sure. This is central thai nothing lao about that Cheers Hua Nguu
Encore
Moo (with the right tone ( I think tone 1 or 2, straight flat tone, in Lao means friedn. So don't worry. just, when you call your friend , don't use tone 4 (rising0, because that means pig.
