POLICE believe a body found by trailbike riders at a forestry plantation at Elimbah, north of Caboolture, could be that of missing Caboolture sex worker Mayur Kaewee.

The badly decomposed body was found wrapped in covers on the ground at 6pm on Saturday.

Detective-Inspector John Moloney said a post-mortem examination showed it was most likely that of Thai-born sex worker Ms Kaewee, 50, who had been missing since November 17.

Insp Moloney said the mother-of-two from Sydney was last seen at a Caboolture Commonwealth Bank.

He said she had booked into a Caboolture motel for two nights, but did not return for the second night.

Her belongings had been left in the motel.

Police are in the process of trying to establish the primary crime scene. "It appears the body has been dumped here," Insp Moloney said.

Police scientific officers and SES workers were scouring the scene and nearby bushland for clues and Ms Kaewee's missing items, which included her purse and mobile phone.

"We are still missing some of her property, so perhaps they've been discarded on the roadway or in bushland here," Insp Moloney said.
