Having gotten used to this oasis from the crowds I am wondering if you can pay to use the facilities there if you only have a scumbag ecconomy ticket?-peter

If you are with a Thai Gold Card member they can take you into the Business Lounge providing you have a Star Alliance ticket.

 

Ask around here. I will be on the Thai midday flight on 5 January from London if it is any use to you - coming back on the midday flight from Bkk on 16 January.

I'm not sure about Gatwick, but I would think they would, you don't get a awfull lot for your money though, usually biscuits, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and internet access. A 2 hour limit applies to the paid for access.

The best lounge I have had access to was the Virgin clubhouse at LHR, that was something special, full menu of top end food, spirits, beer ect all free and unrestricted. Office services, barber, liberary, viewing area, TV lounge even an area to practice your golf putting! + very cute staff and best of all, all free. ::
