I'm familiar enough with BKK and Pattaya, our other destinations, but we are going to visit Chaing Rai also. I've never been there and don't know a thing about it. Any suggestions about good hotels/streets/gogos/bars etc. would be a big help. This will be my first time to "guide" a newbie, hoping to show him as good a time as I was shown my first time. jxxxl Posted February 8, 2005 Report Share Posted February 8, 2005 The nightlife in Chiang Mai is relatively small, but it can be fun if you know where to look. Basically, you have: Beer Bars - mostly around Loy Kroh road and a place called Chiang Mai Entertainment Complex, or CEP. All within walking distance of eachother. Gogos - Spotlight, Foxy Lady and Star Six. You'll be disappointed if you compare these to the same in BKK or Pattaya. Discos - these include Bubble (lost of FLs), Bossy (young locals), Mandalay (lots of chicks) and Gigi (mostly locals). Bubble is your best bet for P4P, but there are great opportunities at the others if you are comfortable picking up girls in a non-P4P setting. Soapies - Sayuri and a few others. I recommend you go to Sayuri and don't bother with the others; they're hard to find and don't always treat Farangs fairly. That said, you will probably pay the farang price at Sayuri unless you are with a local. Restaurants/Bars - Riverside, Goodview and Cottage are all within walking distance of eachother. If you guys are young, try Warm Up. I recommend Cottage for girls although all have good music, food and fun. Plenty of opportunities depending on the night and your pulling power. There's also a late night place called Nice Illusions/Spicy which I heard (never been there) can be quite good. Of course there are other places, but what I mentioned above should keep you busy and are a good start. Next thing you need to do is find a map showing you where all these places are. Tuk Tuk drivers know most of them, but will pay a premium if they take you to Sayuri. Do a search, I think the directions are on this board somewhere. Mamasan has pulled in some new talent for high season. Young and 1 or 2 over 25 that are stunning. And able performers BB's have those hidden gems. Try Butterfly Bar and Linda's on Loy Kroy. Around the Bend Bar a good bet for fun and a relaxed crew in there. Some good lookers if you catch the right night. Soapies are not the same as BKK but... CM Hill Hotel, Phucome, Ponplayon, and the one across from the rail station can have it's good nights. Disco's: It helps if you speak Thai. Boom Senxy is chock full of CM Uni students. Thurs night it is STO and the eye candy is amazing. CR: We go up and play Santaburi Glf CC there. I have not had good luck. 1 BB area with about 6 bars. Some girls are P4P some are not. Takes a lot of talkng to decipher who is who. The other area has 3-4 Go-Go's and 3-4 BB's. Mostly HillTribe girls. Some real young 'un's. Be careful. It's seems to be a thai place but for 250 massage and 600 FS it's a winner...for that price! Or, are you talking about the massage and snooker hall in the condohotel...just across the street! CM is full of night life and alot of Uni students everywhere. Whats the club or gogo to the left of foxy lady set further back off the street and to the left of FL? (roxy) I was with my girl walking from the Duangtawan to Porn ping and was unable to get a really good look! Have you ever been inside the cafe at the river bar? The one with pictures of ladies across the front! Some very sexy girls in this place. CM is best viewed in the cafes' and karokes' this is mainly where you find the CM sexy white skin girls with large breasts! You can pull alot of normal girls from all the discos if you have a couple days to wine and dine... Get a phone and do the Thai thing...girls often respond to it! On the main drag that leads into town. You will see a sign on the right when comming from the rail station heading to CM and night bizzare. Same main road yo turn off to go to Suriyuri massage. Walk from porn ping and head against traffic on the left side of the road. You will walk by several bars, restaurants, massage/store fronts. You walk by a Japaness only club and before you turn left to head to the river bar you see a cafe with blacked glass and photos of ladies all over front and side of a red and white building. Enter in on the side and you are greeted by very hot CM women that sing and dance for you! You can BF but is not cheap! Anyway, I agree that CM is a great hunting ground and the girls are beautiful and very friendly. Think I know where U mean. They recently renovated the place. But even with the renovation it is a Japanese Only Karaoke. I tried yrs ago to get in and was told so. A friend tried a month ago, he was visiting me, and was told the same thing. Sure some lookers outside but they are very picky To the east of Foxy Lady's all katoey bars. And nasty agressive ones ! Nope I was talking about Pandora's. Could not remember the name :: Thanks for reminding me Going rate 12-1400Bht. Some gems in there though. We are spending this weekend there hoping someone here has advice on nightlife and even daytime options in this piece of "the real" Thailand.
