Hidy Ho
I always wondered what the game would be like without this rule ... or moving the line past 1/2 field. Would this favor a faster team? Provide higher scoring (perhaps more exciting) game? Would this allow Michael Owen to start?
Zaad
I've thought about it and I think it'd make the game extremely boring with perhaps basketball-like results :: Long kicks forward with no midfielders, probably a 5-0-5 tactics No, I think the game's just fine. Only thing I'd like to see added is technological aids for both offside and goal decisions. It'll come, I'm sure of that, but not with the current UEFA boys who don't seem to be in favor of suchs aids.
sfinkz
I've always thought it would be justifiable to waive offsides during sudden death, either that or reducing each side by a player every five minutes or so until it was down to 1-on-1 if need be. Anything to avoid the dreaded shoot-out.
chelseafan
Rather than mess around with off-side, I'd rather they stick to the original rule, if ANY player is off-side then a foul is given to the opposing team.....this rule about interfering with play is stupid. Of course the player (without ball) is interfering with play, he's dragging defenders with him to ensure that he's marked!! This often leaves space for the player (with ball) to score Offside is offside. Period. :cussing:
