Hotels with suites or connecting rooms in BKK

Gentlemans:

 

Soon I will arrive bkk for a few days before exploring other areas of thailand.

 

For the first time will not be alone. My young teen son is coming along to keep me honest and to see a country other than his own for the first time. I have alot of thinking to do about where to take him.

 

While i originally planned to get a suite while in BKK it occurred to me that connecting rooms might be a better option. Two rooms at a cheaper hotel may even be cheaper than a suite at a more expensive hotel. The connecting door could remain open (most of the time :

 

Any info on which hotels can set us up with connecting rooms appreciated. Prefer the lower end of Suk and lower end hotels where one room is less than 1400 baht. Also, if there are good options for a suite please post.
