"New" Thailand tv series on Sky

I said "new" because it is actually a repeat of a British 1999/2000 Channel 4 series called Bangkok Bound.

They are now showing it daily on British Sky Travel channel 139 at 11.00pm ( and channel 140 1 hour later ) with a sneaky description that it is a new series. I only noticed this was on tonight so dont know how many shows I have missed.

The reason I am mentioning this is because I remember watching this before I ever came to Bangkok and it just seeming so strange and weird.

Of course, the truth was that when I arrived it was even stranger and weirder. :)

Tonights episode was about this 65 year old jeweler from Devon with an open marriage whos Thai partner was also his gay lover and a white woman who married a thai guy on Samui.

Unfortunately, the only update they had at the end of the program was the original one. So no idea unfortunately if the marriage lasted.

Anyone else remember this program?

i think so.

i remember a story of a Guy who met a 'Girl' and fell in love and took Weeks to discover 'she' had a dick.

he wasn't phased about it and i think they opened a Ladyboy Bar in Pattaya ?.

but to me it was obvious he had fallen for a LB and i just didn't understand how he didn't twig.

another story about a Guy who went looking for an Au-Pair to bring to the UK to look after his elderly Mum,but he was unsuccessful but i'm sure he had no romantic intentions.

and another story of the Professional Photographer who travelled to Thailand and paid Girls to pose for him and specialised in lesbian scenes.

his Photos were then sold to porno mags in the UK.

he made quite a bit of money i seem to recall.

did you ever see the Programme with Louis Therioux?.

he followed the antics of a Guy in his 60's who travelled to BKK looking for a Mail-Order Wife.

visited a few Agencies and went on 'dates' with several Thai Women looking for a Husband.

he was also unsuccessful in his quest and he came across as a little strange and very sad.

not debunking anyone who does this as it was his choice but he just came across as a very desparate and lonely Man.

I've been watching it and watched it first time round before I'd travelled to Thailand. In the one with the porno photographer, the first scene was shot in a pub I worked in (Hectors,Brighton) and the program makers approached my boss about it so a load of us turned up on the day of filming only to discover they'd changed the date (this happened twice)....bastards!

I also saw the Louis Theroux one...brilliant, and wernt the guy who ran the dating agency and his farang employee an odius pair of cunts :scared: then again perhaps I'm just jealous!
